Space in the foreground at Hudson Square (4850 California SW) at the south end of The Junction is set to become West Seattle’s first comic book store since Arcane Comics closed 10 years ago. The new store will be called Tails to amaze, and the owners Shaun and Nicole Duff I hope to open a week from tomorrow (Friday June 18.) Shaun explains, “Tails To Astonish is a comic book, collectibles and toys store. We’re really proud of the fact that we’ll be West Seattle’s ONLY choice for new and old comics. Why a comic book store? “I used to have a boring office job; the pandemic really made me look at my life and what I REALLY wanted to do. I had sold comics at various shows before, but this will be the first brick and mortar store. Tails To Astonish hours of operation will likely begin Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Access is via a staircase from California Street, but there is also an accessible option. (PS Tails To Astonish takes its name from a legendary comic book series and a tribute to the couple’s two cats.)
