The Abu Dhabi Arts Society (ADAS) continues its mission of building more bridges between cultural organizations in Abu Dhabi and the world and fostering inclusion in local artistic communities.
ADAS is constantly working to engage art enthusiasts of different generations and promote traditional and emerging artists from the region to bring together a community of artists, collectors, academics and enthusiasts for art exhibitions, conferences and openings.
The non-profit organization has focused on promoting authentic Emirati culture among local and expatriate communities in the UAE and strengthening international relations through arts and culture since its founding by Dr Hamed bin Mohamed Khalifa Al Suwaidi, President of the Abu Dhabi Arts Society. .
The organization’s board of directors includes two renowned former sheriffs of the City of London – Alderman Timothy Hailes JP and Fiona Adler.
The board also includes notable figures such as former chairman of the British Business Group in Abu Dhabi Richard Oliver OBE, former director of The British Crown Jewelers Mohamed Mufallal and chairman emeritus of the leading financial technology company in the United Kingdom and United Arab Emirates. The organization hosts and sponsors a number of regional and international events each year, physically or virtually, varying across different art forms.

Recently, the ADAS Board of Directors appointed Hala Bou Alwan Chair of the Advisory Board. In this role, she is now responsible for executing ADAS vision and strategies. Bou Alwan’s track record and experience in governance, risk and compliance consulting has made her a perfect response to ADAS’s needs and to its promising future, full of innovation, transformation and enthusiasm.
