Space Channel partners with Houston Cinema Arts Society

HOUSTON, Sept. 01, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Space Channel, the world’s leading space-dedicated news and entertainment media platform, today announced its second consecutive year of partnership with Houston Cinema Arts. Society (HCAS) to broadcast the 2022 Awards Ceremony announcing the winners of CineSpace, the short film competition created by HCAS and NASA, to be held at the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art on November 13.

Now in its 8th year, CineSpace is a short film competition developed by the Houston Cinema Arts Society in conjunction with NASA. “The short films created for CineSpace are often surprising, inspiring and moving”, said Jim Townsend, executive director of the Houston Cinema Arts Society. “NASA is such an important part of Houston’s identity, and through our unique relationships with them and with our friends at the Space Channel, we are able to connect and amplify creative voices from around the world. We look forward to sharing these incredible cinematic gems in an inclusive, multicultural event that will be fun and educational for the whole family.

It is an honor to once again join the Houston Cinema Arts Society in celebrating and recognizing the winners of the NASA CineSpace Short Film Competition,“said Bob Schefferine, Director of Operations, Space Channel.”Based on last year’s entries, I’m sure the winners will present an imaginative and visionary representation of the intersection of space and the arts.
