The Bank is pleased to announce the promotion of Marie Anne Carson from senior vice president to executive vice president. In November 2003, Marie-Anne became the fourth employee recruited by Santa Cruz County Bank in its pre-startup phase. Marie-Anne is responsible for marketing, advertising, corporate messaging, community development, donations, media relations, shareholder relations and is part of the Bank’s management team. She was instrumental in creating and launching Santa Cruz County Bank’s iconic brand, logo, website and early product offerings. She also led projects, including public and private equity sales, and oversaw the opening of seven of the Bank’s branches.

During his banking career of more than 30 years, Marie-Anne gained first-hand knowledge of nearly every aspect of banking from scratch, in roles beginning as a teller and progressing through operations, lending, financial services management, marketing and advertising, public relations and corporate affairs.

Marie-Anne is actively involved in local community and nonprofit organizations, and currently serves on the board, committee, and in advisory roles with Shakespeare of Santa Cruzthe volunteer center of Santa Cruz County and Santa Cruz Gives. In previous years, she served with Santa Cruz Local, Cabrillo College Women’s Scholarship (WES), Santa Cruz Room of Commerce and Santa Cruz Cancer Benefit Group. Marie-Anne was recognized for its community involvement by the Santa Cruz County Chamber of Commerce as “Volunteer of the Year” in 1998 and by the Aptos Chamber of Commerce as “Woman of the Year” in 2009. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of California, Santa Cruz and is also a graduate of Leadership Santa Cruz County and Focus Agriculture.
