Real estate development company Sterling Capitol has named a new director to its board.
Paul Beckett, who joined the company in April 2019, is Sterling’s Chief Development Officer.
Sterling, chaired by Sir Bob Murray CBE, owns and manages business parks across the county. He celebrates his 30e birthday this year.
Beckett joined Sterling Capitol from Cromwell Property Group, where he was an asset and investment manager. He previously worked for property consultancy Carter Jonas in Leeds.
“It’s a huge honor,” Beckett said. “Since joining the company three years ago, I have been heavily involved in developing the Capitol Park business parks in Leeds, Barnsley and Goole, as well as promoting the Capitol Park brand in all of northern England.”
“Equally important, I implemented the strategy and executed the business plans for assets in Sterling’s existing investment portfolio.”
Beckett is currently working on a number of significant projects including a 1m2 extension to Capitol Park Leeds, a 515,000sqft pre-lease in Capitol Park Goole and the £500,000 refurbishment of a flagship head office building in Capitol Park East in Leeds.
Mike Heydecke, chief executive of Sterling Capitol, said Beckett’s impact since joining has been crucial to Sterling’s continued success.
“His in-depth knowledge of the property sector in the North of England, coupled with his keen intelligence, energy, focus and drive, are essential as we tackle the opportunities and challenges ahead.”
Sterling Capitol was formed by Sir Bob Murray in 1992 and is headquartered in central Leeds.
