PHEK, 28 NOVEMBER (MExN): The Phek District Music and Arts Society was officially launched by Rev. Dr. Kowepe Kanuo, Director of Chakhesang Mission Society on November 25 in Pfutsero.
In a short ceremony with the PDMAS team, Rev. Dr. Kowepe Kanuo said that music has no boundaries or language and does not drive people apart but brings them together. He also encouraged the music fraternity to say that now is the time to pursue music and the arts as a profession rather than just performing at an event. He placed special emphasis on the importance of music in the mission fields.
Earlier in the program, Khrowutso Letro, Chairman of Phek District Music and Art Society, outlined the reason for the formation of the society. He said PDMAS will promote music and the arts in the district. The company will work with government entities, churches and other companies to facilitate good coordination in creating a platform for everyone to showcase their talents and skills.
The PDMAS has meanwhile informed that it will hold its first event in collaboration with the Nagaland Choir Directors Association in early 2022 on Choir Conducting in Phek District.
PDMAS is headed by President Khrowutso Letro, Director of Artist and Repertoire Khriesanyoyi Dozo and Secretary Wepu Puro.
