Independent accounting and business advisory firm Monahans made a pair of promotions.
Stephanie Hurst, who is based in Swindon, has been appointed tax manager for business tax advice and personal tax compliance.
With over 15 years of practice experience and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, she joined Monahans in 2014 with a wealth of specialist knowledge and management experience.
In her new role as Chief Tax Officer, Hurst will lead the corporate tax function with an overall management role across all tax departments of the business.
Monahans also welcomed Becky Young back to the team as senior client portfolio manager.
Before starting his own business in 2018, Young worked for Monahans as a client portfolio manager for 12 years. Having now acquired a solid local and regional professional reputation, she joins the team at a higher level.
Managing Partner Simon Tombs said, “Stephanie is an integral part of the tax team at Monahans. Her knowledge is unparalleled, she builds incredible relationships with her clients and she is an accomplished tax advisor.
“As a director, I’m excited to see how she leads the tax division of Monahans and can’t wait to see what the future holds for her.
“I’m also incredibly excited to welcome Becky to the Monahans family. I was sad to see her return in 2018, but she comes back with a broader experience, knowledge and invaluable skills than just managing your own small business will teach and that will help Monahans build on its recent successes.”
Hurst added: “It’s a very exciting time for Monahans and I’m really excited to be on this journey with the company. Being recognized as a director is very rewarding, and I look forward to being an integral part of the future of Monahans.”
These appointments come alongside Monahans strengthening its commitment to Swindon by moving to a larger office to accommodate its growing footprint, driven by growth in the wake of the pandemic.
